Current-driven dynamics of chirality in quasi-one-dimensional easy-plane helimagnets with high anisotropy

Control of chirality in helimagnets can be achieved by applying an electric current and a magnetic field duringthe phase transition process, as well as by means of a domain wall motion. In a continuum theory of a frustratedmagnet, we show the possibility of driven dynamics of a chiral (Hubert) wall, connecting the domains withopposite chiralities, with the help of the non-adiabatic effect of the spin-transfer torque. In addition, we findanother force, which acts on the magnetization profile, induced along the chiral wall by current, in the presenceof a magnetic field. The conditions of the chirality switching due to the asymmetry of the magnetic potentialenergy in the presence of field and current are derived.
