The Genesis of Identity: A Theory of Dynamical Phase Identity

Identity is a dynamical phase of organized systems. It is not a philosophical category, a narrative construct, or a property of particular substrates. It is a condition that arises when a maintenance network’s interior corrective coupling outpaces its boundary perturbation exposure, producing a self-sustaining basin of constraint satisfaction. The formation, persistence, and reconfiguration of such basins are governed by the geometry of the maintenance networks that produce them. This theory is specified across four documents. Each is self-contained. None requires the others as a prerequisite, though together they constitute a unified account of how identity basins are structured, how they form, how they persist under perturbation, and how they dissolve and reconstitute.
