The organization of complete animal feeding is carried out using of different additives. In recent years, feed yeast has been considered promising in terms of optimizing the processes of rumen digestion, increasing the feed intake and nutritional value of diets, and increasing the productivity of dairy cattle. The results of studying a new feed product for rearing of breeding animals, created on the basis of an effective strain of dairy yeast have been presented in the article. The purpose of the research was to evaluate the animal science and economic efficiency of using live milk yeast “Kluver Pro+” in the diets of replacement heifers of the preweaned and transition periods. The experiment was carried out on three groups of heifers of Holstein breed with 14 heads in each. The heifers of the control group received the main diet, and herdmates of the 1st and 2nd experimental groups additionally received 4 and 8 g/head/day of the studied probiotic, respectively. It was found that the introduction of the additive “Kluver Pro+” allowed to improve feed intake, increase the intake of dry matter in diets by 8.3–14.9 %. Under the influence of the yeast probiotic the indicators of nutrient digestibility significantly increased. An increase in the nutritional value of the diet and better assimilation of its feed components ensured a more intensive growth (by 5.9 and 12.2 %) of the replacement heifers of the 1st and 2nd experimental groups in comparison with their herdmates in the control group. According to the results of the experiment, the dosage of yeast in the amount of 8 g/head/day was found to be the most effective with an average daily gain in live weight of 882 g, and the profitability of its production was 15.6 %.
