Integration of Multimedia Instruction in Teaching Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) and the Learners' Academic Performance

The study sought to find out the effects of teaching TLE using Multimedia instruction on the academic performance of the respondents. The descriptive-correlational research method was utilized, and the Statistical tools used in the study were Frequency and Percentage in analyzing the multimedia-aided teaching in problem 1, and Frequency and percentage in the academic performance in problem 2. Spearman-Rho Correlation was used to test the relationship between the use of multimedia and the educational performance of the respondents in problem 3. Findings revealed that the multimedia instruction used by the TLE teacher does not influence the students' academic performance in TLE, as shown in the statistical result where the computed value of video clips rs:.063, still picture rs: .029, and PowerPoint rs: .015 are less than the tabular value at the .05 level of significance. Therefore, the null hypothesis was accepted. In summary, it was recommended that school administrators encourage the implementation of multimedia instruction as a teacher aid in the classroom to maintain students' attention, increase their motivation, create a more active environment, enhance the learning experience, and develop the 21st-century skills of learners to be globally competitive. Further, the teachers must integrate the latest technology into the classroom and introduce different teaching strategies suited to learners to make the subject more meaningful and interesting, paving the way for increased academic performance.
