Anti-Glomerular Basement Membrane (GBM) Glomerulonephritis in the Context of Genitourinary Tuberculosis: A Case Report

Anti-glomerular basement membrane (anti-GBM) (GN) have been reported to be associated with tuberculosis (TB) but anti-GBM GN in the context of genitourinary (GU) TB is exceptionally rare.We report a case of anti-GBM GN with concurrent GU TB.Patient underwent plasma exchange and was treated with high-dose prednisolone following a three-day course of intravenous methylprednisolone.Oral cyclophosphamide (125 mg once daily) was also prescribed.After 14 cycles of plasma exchange, the anti-GBM antibody titer decreased.However, the patient developed pulmonary hemorrhage requiring intubation and remained dialysis-dependent despite therapy.
