The purpose of the work was to develop a system of breeding and genetic techniques and methods for breeding Braslavky breed type of pigs of Yorkshire breed. As a result a breeding parent herd of pigs of Braslavky type being bred consist of blood lines Dania 7723, Dickson 4988, Osean 5060, Anis 9011, Almaz 9009 and Amur 9000 with high productivity and prolifi cacy 12.5 heads, the age of reaching a live weight of 100 kg – 154.4–157.2 days, the content of lean meat in the body – 61.4–61.9 % and yield of piglets per sow per year – 30.5–31.2 heads. The genetic potential of the type of pig being bred exceeds the average values for the population by 3.97–8.1 % (p < 0.001), the yield of piglets per sow per year by 9.30–11.8 %, and the age of reaching a live weight of 100 kg by 1.2–8.7 days (p < 0.001). The new type of pigs have a lower fat thickness by 2.35–14.4 % (p < 0.001), their lean meat content is higher by 0.1–1.3 abs.% (p < 0.001). It was found when distributing the frequencies of alleles and genotypes of the ESR gene in pigs of various blood lines that the highest frequency of preferred genotypes belonged to the BB allele (62.5–73.3 %) in animals of the lines Almaz 9009 and Osean 5060. According to the PRLR prolactin receptor gene the frequency of occurrence of the preferred PRLRBB genotype (32.1–44.4 %) was detected in pigs of the lines Dickson 4988 and Denmark 7723. According to the H-FABPHH marker gene it was 3.60–22.2 % with an allele frequency of 26.2–38.8 %. The animals of the lines Almaz 9009 and Anis 9011 from 2 to 8 alleles were characterized by the highest variability of alleles in the loci. The observed level of heterozygosity (No) among pigs of the studied blood lines ranged from 53.6 to 68.6 %. The results of the BLUP AM assessment of sows showed that the highest EBV for multiple fertility of 0.03–0.05 was found in sows of the lines Osean 5060, Almaz 9009 and Anis 9011. The heritability of the reproductive traits of pigs was in the range of h2 = 0.01–0.54, and fattening and meat traits – h2 =0.10–0.44.
