Factors Impacting Intention of Dental Hygienists to Administer Vaccines in Dental Settings

DHs' intent to search for/attend training and offer vaccinations to patients was predicted by factors that were personal (e.g., confidence, vaccine hesitancy, religion), behavioural (e.g., educating patients, attending courses to increase knowledge) and environmental (e.g., support from the dentist, time, reimbursement). Our study suggests the need to support primarily personal and behavioural factors should vaccine administration become part of the DH scope of practice.
