A qualitative study to identify key implementation considerations of introducing new technologies into older adult care settings

The AIR Program was viewed favorably by end-users, and helped with decision-making regarding technology adoption in congregate living settings for older adults. Barriers to implementation and adoption included limited exposure, financial constraints, and poor organisational fit, while facilitators of implementation success included perceived ease of use and integration into care, and organisational readiness. Broadly, fostering mechanisms for good communication, the identification of champions to support implementation, and adequate resources should be considered when adopting new technologies into care settings.
