Simulation and Optimization Design of Straw Grinder Cutting Tool

To address the prevalent issues of high cutting resistance and excessive power consumption in existing rice straw crushing machines, this study analyzed the cutting principle of straw. Based on theoretical mechanics, an energy consumption model for straw cutting was established to determine the optimal blade parameters. A three-dimensional model of the blade was created using modeling software. Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulation experiments were conducted to compare the performance of the designed logarithmic spiral blade with trapezoidal-edge blades and conventional blades. The simulation results demonstrated that the maximum cutting force of the logarithmic spiral blade was reduced by 26.67% and 37.55%, respectively, compared to the other two blades, confirming its effectiveness in reducing cutting resistance.
