This chapter analyses the global market and the internationalization of education and how they have impacted the delivery of higher education and the treatment of the university as a business. It allows the development of ordering and ranking educational institutions and the ranking of countries. It focuses on the internationalization of education and the impact of international policies and pressures on the movement of students and the teaching workforce, on international research, and on the establishment of globalized educational partnerships. Using comparisons of selected countries of Europe, Asia, North America and Southeast Asia, the chapter explores the regional factors that determine the impact of education system ranking and ordering on inequity of educational and globalized inequality. It explores the impact of educational commercialization, educational mission. It concludes with a focus on teaching equity, and social inclusion and argues that the teaching mission of educational institutions should dominate the global visibility of educational institutions.
