Catalogue of Obscene and Brothel Tangos

English translation of the working document prepared for the Contango lecture series, dedicated to the social and cultural history of tango. The catalogue systematizes a corpus of obscene and brothel tangos from the Guardia Vieja period, classified by the mechanism that determined their survival or censorship: sanitized title (Category A), concealed content (Category B), passage to instrumental (Category C), and exclusively oral survival (Category D). Includes a translator's note on lunfardo, cross-analysis by semantic field, and a detailed case study of El Choclo by Ángel Villoldo (1905).
