Inhibition as a Mechanism for Overcoming Language Interference in Simultaneous Interpreting

The paper examines inhibition as a core executive mechanism that regulates language interference in English-Ukrainian simultaneous interpreting.Interference is treated not as a linguistic flaw but as a symptom of temporary imbalance in cognitive control.Drawing on episodebased analysis and indicators such as EVS and cognitive load balance, the study argues that stable inhibitory control prevents structural transfer and supports communicative stability in high-pressure institutional discourse.
