Enhancing Collaborative Learning Through Gamification in UAE Schools

This quantitative study of 146 UAE K-12 teachers examines how gamification shapes collaborative learning and the prospective contribution of AI. An online survey captured perceptions of benefits, effectiveness (lessons/websites), and implementation barriers. Analyses (descriptives, Cronbach's alpha, regression, one-sample t-tests) show gamification significantly predicts collaborative outcomes, explaining 52.5% of variance. Kahoot and ClassDojo were viewed as highly effective for engagement, cohesion, and behaviour. Reported obstacles included time-intensive design, limited methodological expertise, and curriculum constraints. Although AI data were not collected, we outline how AI-enabled gamification could personalise learning, automate feedback, and optimise group dynamics.
