Radiological protection in the nuclear industry

A brief account is given of radiological protection in some aspects of the nuclear industry. It includes consideration of the mining and milling of uranium, reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel and the disposal of radioactive wastes. Radiological protection for reactor operations is not covered, nor is the development, production and maintenance of nuclear weapons. The areas covered are sufficient to illustrate the wide diversity of issues that arise.
