North Thames regional special interest group study day: Reducing restrictive practices and improving end of life care for people with intellectual disabilities; London, 25 November 2025

The North Thames regional special interest group of psychologists working with people with intellectual disabilities, organised an in-person study day in the BPS London offices on 25th November 2025. The first part of the day focused on the presentation of HOPE(S) clinical model: a Human Rights–Based Approach to Reducing Long-Term Segregation. The second presentation was related to End-of-Life Care and Dementia in People with Intellectual Disabilities. There were two invited speakers, with opportunities for attendees to reflect on and discuss each of the presentations.
