Adis Summary of Research: Efficacy and safety of proactive therapy with 2% crisaborole ointment in children with mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis: a randomized controlled study

Atopic dermatitis (AD), a chronic, relapsing, inflammatory skin disease, occurs in up to 20% of children. 2% crisaborole ointment, a novel phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor, has shown therapeutic benefits in managing AD; however, there are limited data on its sustained use and its impact on relapse prevention following AD resolution. This Adis Summary of Research summarizes the findings of a randomized, open-label, multicentre study conducted in China that investigated the efficacy and tolerability of a proactive treatment strategy with 2% crisaborole ointment in children aged 2–17 years with mild-to-moderate AD.
