INTRODUCTION: Robotic surgery has become a standard practice in gynecologic surgery and is increasingly utilized across multiple surgical specialties. Medical students on clinical rotations are frequently involved in robotic cases and are expected to arrive prepared. However, current medical school curricula often do not provide adequate training for students to succeed on rotations with an emphasis on robotic surgery. OBJECTIVE: This video aims to equip students with essential knowledge and skills to excel during surgical rotations that involve robotic surgery. We aim to familiarize learners with robotic surgery, describe robot setup, and empower learners to contribute to safe, efficient patient care. METHODS: Educational content was developed through consultation with attending surgeons involved in robotic surgery. Key components included describing the parts of the robot and demonstrations of robotic system setup. The material was organized into an educational instructional video using iMovie. RESULTS: This video provides an overview of the part of the robot, details setup for robotic surgery, and equips learners with fundamentals for active engagement during cases. CONCLUSIONS: This video provides key information for learners to assist and learn during robotic surgery. Incorporating this resource into pre-rotation preparation may enhance student engagement and optimize learning experiences in the robotic operating room.
