王懷萱 (Wang Huaixuan ) (2026) .《無聲的控訴》Silent Accusation; Global Humanities and Liberal Arts, 2026(5B). Lenox Institute Press, Auburndale, Massachusetts, USA.; 205 pages. ABSTRACT: "Silent Accusation" is a memoir and historical testimony completed by Wang Huaixuan in 1996. Drawing upon his own life experiences, the work documents how the dramatic political transformations of twentieth-century China reshaped the destiny of an individual. Born in Jiangshan County of Zhejiang Province, Wang Huaixuan received professional training in law and criminal investigation and later served in intelligence-related institutions of the Nationalist government. After the political transition of China in 1949, however, the course of his life changed dramatically. He experienced detention and long-term political restriction, which interrupted both his professional career and personal aspirations. Importantly, this manuscript Silent Accusation was written before the author received historical vindication. At the time of writing, he did not know that he would later receive a presidential pardon from the Republic of China in 2000. The work therefore preserves the author's authentic voice and reflections prior to official recognition of the injustices he endured, giving the text particular historical and documentary value. Combining autobiographical narrative with historical reflection, the book portrays the experience of an ordinary individual caught in the turbulence of modern Chinese history. The narrative is written under a pen name while the author's real name appears on the book cover, creating a symbolic distance between the personal memory and historical testimony. As a work that blends memoir, political testimony, and historical reflection, Silent Accusation records not only the tragedy of one individual life but also the broader human consequences of political upheavals in modern China.
