Revolutionary Advances in Paclitaxel-Based Breast Cancer Treatment

<p> Introduction: Breast cancer has caused the majority of deaths among women over the past 20 years. Paclitaxel, a member of the taxane family of anticancer drugs, has a distinct mode of action and substantial clinical efficacy and is used widely in the management of breast cancer. This normally prevents mitotic spindle formation, halting cell division and leading to apoptosis. It is applied to both early-stage and metastatic breast cancer, either alone or in conjunction with other medications. </p><p> Method: A comprehensive literature review was conducted using PubMed, Google, ClinicalTrials. gov, ResearchGate, Google Patents, and other sources. </p><p> Result and Discussion: Optimization and nanoformulations of paclitaxel significantly reduced the paclitaxel-related side effects, enhanced patient outcomes, and improved overall breast cancer management. </p><p> Conclusion: While paclitaxel has already made a significant impact in the management of breast cancer, further advancements in its delivery systems and its combination with newer therapies may revolutionize the standard of care. </p>
