Modern coretop leaf wax hydrogen and carbon isotopes from west coast of North America

This dataset consists of hydrogen (δD) and carbon isotope (δ13C) measurements of long-chain leaf wax n-acids from core tops (e.g. recent sediments) off the coast of western North America. The dataset also includes chain length metrics like average chain length and carbon preference index. These data span a latitudinal range of 20 to 60 degrees north, and were used in a study to evaluate the fidelity with which leaf wax-inferred values of precipitation hydrogen isotopes reflect observed gradients in climatological variables.
