The Biochemistry of Oxidative Phosphorylation

A comprehensive overview of the biochemistry of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation focusing on the known target proteins of crop protection fungicides and insecticides, especially Complex I (NADH–ubiquinone oxidoreductase), Complex II (succinate dehydrogenase), Complex III (cytochrome bc 1 complex), Complex IV (cytochrome oxidase) and the ATP synthase complex (F 1 -F o ATPase). Evidence for the binding sites of natural and synthetic inhibitor classes is reviewed and placed in the context of protein structure and pesticide resistance management.
