Angular-multiplexed animated computer generated holograms calculation method in hardcopy

We present a novel approach for generating high-resolution 3D animations in a single-frame computer-generated hologram (CGH) with constrained vertical parallax. This method simplifies the conventional two-step process of optical hologram recording into a single-step calculation, employing ray-wavefront conversion. The paper provides a theoretical derivation of the proposed animated CGH generation process, elucidating the underlying principle of vertical ray limitation that governs the reconstruction geometry. The analysis also identifies the key constraint that determines the number of animation frames required for complete system computation. By carefully controlling the vertical viewing angle and accurately calculating wavefronts, we replicate the interference patterns required for dynamic 3D animation. The proposed method was validated through computational simulations and laser lithography, demonstrating visually compelling 3D effects achieved by manipulating an LED array.
