Effective Dorsal Wrist Exposure Without the Use of Assistants or Instruments

Abstract Dorsal wrist exposure is a commonly performed procedure to address pathologies involving the wrist. However retracting the extensor tendons using instruments or relying on assistants can be cumbersome and labor intensive. We describe a novel technique that provides effective, sustained and reliable exposure of the wrist while simplifying tendon retraction. Not relevant to this article. This new technique of retracting tendons and improving exposure of the wrist may obviate the need for instruments or assistants.
