Effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy in reducing anxiety among adolescents

The majority of teenagers suffer from anxiety disorders, which are among the most prevalent mental health issues that they face. These illnesses frequently interfere with academic performance, social interactions, and overall well-being. Cognitive behavioral therapy, sometimes known as CBT, is a psychological intervention that deals with the management of anxiety by altering maladaptive ideas and actions. It has gained widespread acceptance and is supported by compelling data. the effectiveness of CBT in lowering anxiety levels among teenagers. Purposive sampling was used to choose a sample of adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18 years old for the research project, which was designed to be quantitative and quasi-experimental respectively. For the purpose of determining the levels of anxiety that were present both before and after the intervention, standardized instruments such as the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) or other validated scales were utilized. A planned program that focused on cognitive restructuring, relaxation techniques, and behavioral modification tactics was incorporated in the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program. These sessions were administered over a predetermined time period.
