Design and practice of navigation watchkeeping simulation training

Ship maneuvering simulator is an important means to train crew's practical skills, and it is also an indispensable training equipment for colleges and training units. Simulator practical teaching has become an important part of navigation course teaching in navigation colleges and training units. Therefore, how to effectively use the ship maneuvering simulator to improve the teaching effect of navigation courses is a problem that the current teaching and training units pay close attention to. This paper briefly describes the role of ship maneuvering simulator in practical teaching, introduces the development and teaching application of multi-ship collision avoidance simulator of a certain unit, takes ship collision avoidance practical teaching as an example, focuses on the overall design concept, teaching implementation process and teaching implementation effect of this part of the practical teaching, and puts forward some improvement measures. The research results of this paper can provide useful reference for the development and teaching application of similar simulators.
