This dataset presents demographic, socio-economic, hearing-related, and academic performance information of deaf undergraduate students in India. It has been developed to support research in deaf education, learning analytics, and AI-based academic performance prediction. The dataset includes variables such as gender, family income, parental education, district and state, degree and type of hearing loss, use of hearing aids and cochlear implants, communication mode, and family history of hearing loss. Academic indicators include performance in Class 10, Class 12, and Semester 1, along with overall grade. The data were collected through institutional records and structured data collection methods. All data have been anonymized to ensure privacy and ethical compliance. This dataset can be used for AI-driven applications in the context of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) learners, including: Learning analytics and educational data mining to understand learning patterns, engagement, and challenges specific to DHH students Predictive modeling of academic performance to identify at-risk DHH learners and support early intervention strategies Research in inclusive education and deaf studies, enabling evidence-based insights into accessibility, pedagogy, and learning outcomes Development of assistive technologies, including AI models for sign language understanding, multimodal learning support, and accessibility tools tailored to DHH users Earlier studies have used subsets of this dataset with fewer variables. The present version represents a more comprehensive and curated dataset suitable for advanced research applications.
