Numerical study on thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling analysis in rock with variable properties induced by temperature

In this study, thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling analysis considering both general interaction and the variation of rock properties induced by temperature variation was performed for the circular shaft of the diameter of 2m in deep location, which the circular shaft is excavated in the rock mass under hydrostatic stress of 5MPa. In this case, Thermal expansion induced tensile stress vicinity of the circular tunnel. When properties were given as a function of temperature, thermal expansion was increased, but tensile stress zone around wall was little larger.
