Advocating Sustainable Tourism Through Cultural and Heritage Photography

Abstract The practice of photography has become more important to the sustainability of tourism in the 21st century. This is because advances in technology have enabled photographers to take on increasingly diverse and global looks. The study is based on an extensive review of literature spanning the previous 15 years. In reality, photography plays a major role in the promotion of many holiday destinations. Posting images on social media platforms or starting a blog can tell stories about historical sites, programs, or other cultural events. These can help draw in and retain potential tourists and encourage them to ask more questions and, eventually, make a reservation. The authors claim that by using photographic tourism, heritage places may be domesticated, reframed into whole new contexts, and given a distinctive shape that can aid in our understanding of the culture.
