Abstract

A series of mono-annulated indigo (MAI) derivatives was synthesized and systematically investigated to elucidate the role of structural asymmetry on excited-state dynamics.The synthesized MAIs exhibit pronounced solvatochromism, large Stokes shifts, and base-induced NIR absorption.Transient absorption measurements showed ns-lived singlet states and ms-lived triplet states, demonstrating substitutioncontrolled ISC and relaxation pathways.
