THE STUDY OF TECHNICAL ANALYSIS OF INDIAN STOCK INDICES

ABSTRACT This study examines the application of technical analysis in predicting the movement of major Indian stock market indices. The research is based on secondary data of six indices—Nifty 50, Sensex, Bank Nifty, Nifty IT, Nifty Smallcap 100, and Nifty Midcap 100—for the period 2023 to 2025. Candlestick patterns and moving averages were used to analyse price trends and trading signals. The findings reveal that technical indicators are useful for identifying market trends and buy–sell signals, but their accuracy varies under different market conditions. The study concludes that combining multiple technical indicators improves investment decision-making, though market volatility and external factors still influence price movements.
