Developing and Testing a Software Package for the Personal Protective Equipment Issuance and Accounting Automation

The study examines the issue of inefficiency of the system of personal protective equipment accounting and issuance at an industrial facility, where traditional methods of paperwork and manual registration result in violations of the required wearing period and significant time losses. As a solution, the development and implementation of an automated accounting software package based on the platforms of Python, PostgreSQL, and RFID technologies is proposed. The goal of the study is to develop a personal protective equipment accounting automation system and to assess its efficiency in real production conditions. The study methodology is a comparative data analysis before and after the system's implementation, using timekeeping and result verification tools. According to test results, the time to issue one personal protective equipment kit was reduced to 35s, whereas the number of accounting errors was reduced to zero. The data obtained indicate the formation of a control system that mitigates human factors and ensures the recording of all operations. It has been concluded that the automated system for personal protective equipment accounting helps an industrial facility comply with regulatory requirements by minimizing human factors and ensuring the consistent implementation of all regulatory procedures. As registered, during the tests, the time spent on protective equipment accounting and issuance operations was reduced by 81%, and the risk of administrative liability for occupational safety violations was also reduced.
