Abstract

Higher sulfide concentrations boosted biological activity and increased tolerance within the active BD microbiome. Both FccAB and Sqr were prevalent, indicating their essential roles in sulfide oxidation. The predicted truncated Sox system suggests thiosulfate dismutation to sulfate and elemental sulfur.
