On February 9th, 2026, the Open Science Learning GATE hosted its second Research Meeting. Building on the first research meeting the GATE Research Team and Open Science experts focused on developing the conceptual, methodological, and strategic foundations of the first GATE Report 2025. GATE is an Open Science initiative that systematically collects, analyses, and mirrors community-based knowledge about how Open Science is understood, taught, and practised in general and at its intersection with Artificial Intelligence. A questionnaire-based GATE Service and solution-oriented workshops are the key instruments of collecting data and informing the Open Science community. The resulting knowledge will be communicated in annual GATE Reports, aiming to reflect the evidence-based and structured knowledge on Open Science and its development back to practitioners and decision-makers. The first draft of the GATE Report, which was discussed in this meeting, will be published in May at the World Conference of Research Integrity 2026. A recording of the second Research Meeting is available here.
