PPT76 Case report: sublingual timolol as an alternative to oral propranolol for symptomatic palpitations in palliative care

<h3></h3> Palpitations can cause significant distress in palliative care patients. Beta-blockers such as propranolol are often effective, but alternative routes of administration may be necessary when oral intake is no longer feasible. We report the case of a 71-year-old woman with advanced mesothelioma experiencing recurrent symptomatic palpitations at the end of life, in whom timolol ophthalmic drops —administered sublingually—was successfully used as a non-oral beta-blocker alternative.
