Modern military education in Ukraine, developing in accordance with NATO standards, is changing the concept of training, creating various platforms for online learning, simulation of military-professional situations. There is a need to ensure innovation, practice-orientation, professional contextuality. Information and communication technologies play a significant role in improving the training of specialists of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is determined that they offer new options for obtaining educational information and new methods of teaching and learning. It is concluded that under certain conditions, information and communication technologies in the training of future specialists of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can perform two functions: to be both an object of study, when students master their structure, principles of operation and algorithms for application in professional activities, and a means of learning, when a teacher/instructor uses them to demonstrate educational material, simulate professional situations or organize educational activities. This reveals the binary nature of information and communication technologies in the military education system. Analysis of the potential of information and communication technologies in training personnel for the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine aimed at specifying their key characteristics as educational innovations: applicants for military accounting specialties perform operations with information - collection, transmission, processing, storage and use of data, including during the modeling of engineering operations; interactive interaction of participants in the educational and training process; purposeful interaction of specialists of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with computer systems, network technologies and telecommunications, which allows conducting distance learning, video conferences and using digital simulators of engineering activities; clear sequence of actions of teachers/instructors and applicants, integrity of the educational and training process and achievement of planned educational results; universality of the application of educational information and communication technologies.
