Computational studies of the strength characteristics of an external vessel and bellows assembly of a cryogenic refueling cylinder

This article presents the results of computational studies of the strength characteristics of an external vessel and bellows assembly of a cryogenic refueling cylinder. As a result of the research, the minimal wall thickness of the external vessel of the cryogenic refueling cylinder and the reserve factor of the external vessel of the BKZ and its bellows assembly were determined. The structure of the bellows assembly was optimized. It was established that the optimum characteristics are obtained with a bellow with four sections. Its minimum equivalent stresses do not exceed 39.6 MPa, and the safety margin coefficient is 4.65. The temperature fields deformation values of the structural elements are determined in the range of operating temperatures within the framework of heat and strength calculations.
