Green HRM in Hospitals as a Strategic Approach to Promoting Employees' Pro-Environmental Behavior and Achieving Organizational Sustainability

This study examines the role of green human resource management (GHRM) in enhancing sustainability in healthcare organizations. Sustainability is conceptualized as a multidimensional framework encompassing environmental protection and economic efficiency, requiring managerial practices that balance these dimensions. The study highlights the evolution of HRM from a traditional productivity-focused function to a strategic, sustainability-oriented approach, positioning GHRM as a key mechanism for promoting employees' pro-environmental behaviors. Based on a critical review of recent literature on sustainability in healthcare organizations and GHRM, the study emphasizes practices such as green recruitment, environmental training, and sustainability-oriented performance appraisal. The findings suggest that GHRM practices contribute significantly to improving environmental performance, optimizing resource utilization, and cultivating a green organizational culture within healthcare organizations, thereby supporting the achievement of long-term organizational sustainability.
