Au cœur de l’épreuve : la posture soignante en puériculture

Every year in France, around 2,400 children aged 0 to 18 are diagnosed with cancer, a devastating event for the child, their family, and the healthcare professionals. How do these children manage to navigate the challenges imposed by the disease? And what role do healthcare professionals, particularly pediatric nurses, play in this process?Through an analysis of a situation experienced in the oncology-hematology department with a teenage patient in palliative care, this thesis explores the role of pediatric nurses in supporting sick children and their families. The support provided by pediatric nurses, a true human and professional challenge, raises a key question: Are they truly aware of the impact they have in this process? This thesis aims to shed light on this issue and open avenues for reflection on the evolution of professional practices.
