Diagnosis of motivational types of attitudes of students with hearing impairments towards physical education classes in inclusive education settings

Background and Study Aim. The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the motivational types that determine the attitude and involvement of students with hearing impairments in physical education classes in general education and inclusive educational institutions. Material and Methods. The study is based on a theoretical analysis of contemporary concepts of motivation (in particular, self-determination theory) and an empirical study of the motivational orientations of 146 schoolchildren aged 7–16. We used questionnaires, an adapted physical activity motivation scale (APAMS), semi-structured interviews, and pedagogical observations, which allowed us to identify types of motivation, barriers to involvement, and social factors of influence. Results. The results showed that the majority of students demonstrate external and identification motivation, while internal motivation is more pronounced in students of general education institutions where adapted communication and physical educat
