Supplementary Material to "Magmatic intrusions beneath floor-fractured craters in the Martian highlands" : Principal Components Analysis (data and code)

This repository contains the necessary information (data and code) to compute the Principal Component Analysis presented in the article submitted for publication to Icarus and entitle "Magmatic intrusions beneath floor-fractured craters in the Martian highlands" by Le Contellec A., Michaut C., Walwer D., Maccaferri F., and Pinel V. . The PCA is performed on a selection of floor-fractured craters located on Mars, and aims at distinguishing between two potential populations of craters originating from different mechanisms. The supplied morphological parameters were obtained from observations using the JMars software (Christensen et al., 2009). The data is given in a text file containing 4 columns: crater diameter (in meters), crater theoretical depth (from Boyce and Garbeil, 2007), measured depth (in meters), floor uplift (in meters), fracture length (in meters). The code provided to perform the PCA is written in MATLAB and allows to: 1/ Normalize the data 2/ Perform the PCA 3/ Plot figures representing the distribution of the craters as a function of PC1 and PC2 as well as the corresponding orientations of the corresponding principal components.
