Morphological and Molecular Characterization of Nepalese Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) Landraces

This dataset contains raw and processed data supporting the study of the morphological and molecular characterisation of 58 common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) landraces collected from 24 districts. It includes morphological trait measurements (both qualitative and quantitative), SSR marker allele-based data, and metadata describing all variables used in the study. The dataset includes raw morphological and molecular data required to reproduce all analyses presented in the study. Morphological data were recorded for qualitative and quantitative traits following standard descriptors, and summary statistics were computed using standard statistical methods. Molecular data consist of SSR marker allele scoring, which was used to generate a binary matrix for genetic analysis. Principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis were performed using standard multivariate statistical tools. Molecular summary statistics, principal coordinate analysis (PCoA), analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA), molecular cluster dendrogram and population structure analysis were conducted using appropriate population genetics software. All input datasets required for these analyses are provided, along with metadata describing variables and measurement protocols, allowing full reproducibility of the results.
