A new version of the RICardo database was published in July 2025. Compared with the previous 2022 version, RICardo 2025 adds more than 50,000 new data points, bringing the total number of bilateral trade flows to about 670,000. The version published on the RICardo website, which removes duplicates and null values, includes around 570,000 data points. These new data correspond to new reporting entities and the collection of new bilateral flows for the period 1830–1860. They are extracted from primary or primary_yearbook sources, which come from: The digitization of new archives (Aden, Cyprus, Portuguese India) The collection of online archives (British colonies in Africa and the Caribbean) A new database (Russian Foreign Trade Statistics 1827–1917, by Timur Valetov) One of the main outcomes of this new data addition can be visualized in the metadata view. Over the whole period, the proportion of primary and primary_yearbook sources is significantly higher than that of secondary sources. Béatrice Dedinger (3 septembre 2025).
