Invited: Agentic Chip Design from Spec2GDS - Faster and Better than a Human Expert?

Over recent decades, the Electronic Design Automation community has achieved orders-of-magnitude gains in productivity and automation, yet new chip design and market delivery still require 12–18 months. Modern algorithms greatly surpass human performance for many EDA tasks, such as logic synthesis and optimization, large-scale placement, and timing analysis of complex circuit graphs. But chip design remains time-consuming because design creation and iterative synthesis, implementation, signoff, and verification require substantial human expertise.
