An Analytical Study on Cross-Border Logistics of the India-Bhutan Border Region

This chapter provides a detailed review of cross-border logistics along the India-Bhutan border. It uses the PRISMA 2020 framework to combine insights from academic, institutional, and grey literature. The focus is on the operational, regulatory, and infrastructure aspects that shape the logistics landscape between the two countries. Key topics include trade facilitation, customs alignment, and digital integration. Based on 86 carefully selected publications, the review identifies six main themes: infrastructure challenges, customs and regulatory issues, institutional fragmentation, gaps in digital trade, political tensions, and informal trade practices. The findings show that while physical infrastructure poses significant challenges, effective institutional coordination and digital cooperation are also crucial for improving logistics efficiency and fostering regional integration.
