Reliability Analysis of Wireless Sensor Networks Using the Transition Module Method

This article presents the possibilities of using the transition modules method to analyze the reliability of wireless sensor networks. A simulation analysis of the reliability of a sensor cluster in a star topology was performed. It was assumed that the measurement results are reliable if there are k out of N sensors in the cluster that are serviceable. Calculations were performed for different values of N and different recovery times of unserviceable sensors. The method was shown to be useful for selecting the most economically advantageous value of sensor renewal time and number of sensors.
