Meckel's Diverticulum Causing Sigmoid Knotting and Closed‐Loop Obstruction: A Rare Case Report From a Resource‐Limited Setting

ABSTRACT Meckel's diverticulum rarely causes large bowel obstruction through a fibrous band, leading to sigmoid knotting and closed‐loop gangrene. In patients presenting with acute intestinal obstruction without prior abdominal surgery, this etiology should be considered. Early recognition, aggressive resuscitation, and prompt laparotomy are essential to prevent fatal outcomes.
