Trichogrammatidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) from Xinjiang Pamir Plateau, China with Description of Three New Species1

The Trichogrammatidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) represent a large group of minute parasitoid wasps, many of which play important roles in biological control. During a comprehensive survey conducted in the Pamir Plateau, Xinjiang, China, specimens were collected using sweep nets, yellow pan traps, and Malaise traps. Through taxonomic identification, we recognized six genera: Trichogramma Westwood, 1833; Oligosita Walker, 1851; Mirufens Girault, 1915; Ufens Girault, 1911; Aphelinoidea Girault, 1911; and Tumidiclava Girault, 1911, encompassing a total of 11 species. This study provides an identification key for the Trichogrammatidae species known from the Pamir Plateau, facilitating further research on their distribution and classification. Additionally, three new species are described and illustrated: Mirufens longeantennae Li & Hu, Aphelinoidea orangia Li & Hu, and Tumidiclava ulugqata Li & Hu. Furthermore, Aphelinoidea deserticola Novicky, 1963 is recorded for the first time in China. These findings significantly expand the knowledge of Trichogrammatidae diversity in the region and provide a foundation for future studies on their ecological roles and potential applications in biological control. The results underscore the importance of continued taxonomic research in the Pamir Plateau, a region of high biodiversity and ecological significance.
