Deconstructing the Self and God: An Experiential Inquiry into Consciousness and Illusion

This paper explores the relationship between the concepts of the “self” and “God” through an experiential and introspective framework. It argues that both constructs arise from a fundamental lack of clarity about the nature of the self. When the “I” is unexamined, God becomes a projection shaped by psychological needs such as fear, desire, and dependency. Traditional devotion is reinterpreted as a transactional mechanism rather than a spiritual realization. By examining consciousness as the observing center distinct from the body and mind (periphery), this study proposes that true understanding dissolves the apparent duality between the individual and the divine. The paper concludes that realization is not the attainment of God but the dissolution of both the seeker and the sought, revealing a state beyond conceptual divisions.
