Advancements in Precision Agriculture: A Comprehensive Review of Technologies for Improving Agricultural Efficiency

Precision agriculture has emerged as a transformative approach for modern farming systems, integrating advanced digital technologies to improve agricultural productivity, sustainability, and resource efficiency. Traditional agricultural practices often rely on uniform input application across fields, which can lead to inefficient use of resources such as fertilizers, water, and pesticides. Precision agriculture addresses this limitation by utilizing technologies such as remote sensing, global positioning systems (GPS), geographic information systems (GIS), artificial intelligence (AI), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), robotics, and big data analytics to monitor field variability and enable site-specific management practices. These technologies facilitate real-time monitoring of crop health, soil properties, environmental conditions, and farm operations, allowing farmers to make informed decisions regarding irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and harvesting.
