Currently, drugs of choice for the relief of acute and chronic pain of the musculoskeletal system in the outpatient setting are centrally acting muscle relaxants. Medical research data indicate that such pains are noted in 25-30% of residents of developed countries, and their frequency increases significantly in older age groups. Consequently, the current marketing analysis of this group of drugs will provide a systematization of scientific knowledge about the state of the pharmaceutical market, socio-economic and consumer characteristics of muscle relaxants, which will improve the quality of drug assistance to the population. The purpose of the study was to conduct a marketing analysis of drugs from the group of centrally acting muscle relaxants used in the provision of medical care to patients on an outpatient basis and in circulation in the Russian pharmaceutical market. The research materials were scientific literary sources of domestic and foreign authors, regulatory legal documents. The information base of the study was the State Register of Medicines of the Russian Federation, price lists of large pharmacy chains operating in Moscow. During the study, methods of qualitative analysis of the nomenclature of centrally acting muscle relaxants in circulation, price analysis, content analysis and the method of bibliographic analysis of literary sources were used. As a result, it was established that 10 international non-proprietary names of centrally acting muscle relaxants, represented by 80 trade names of drugs, are in circulation in the Russian pharmaceutical market. In Russia, the industrial production of 61 trade names of medicines (76%) has been localized, Russian companies hold 40 registration certificates (78%) for centrally acting muscle relaxants. At the same time, the industrial production of pharmaceutical substances lags significantly behind the production of finished drugs. Only 3 out of 10 types of necessary pharmaceutical substances (30%) were released. Price analysis of drugs in the regional pharmaceutical market revealed their economic accessibility for the general population. Thus, as a result of the work carried out, relevant data were obtained on the current state of the Russian pharmaceutical market of centrally acting muscle relaxants, which ensure the maintenance of the socially necessary level of their consumption for medical use on an outpatient basis.
